#Goals

I recently started yet another round of schooling as I am now going through my second summer of suffering through a semester of university. Unfortunately due to the number of courses that I had dropped this semester, I am now unable to graduate on time, unless I take a full course load (4 classes) both this summer and next summer. It’s the best feeling knowing I have two years of six nonstop semesters *cries*.

This summer, I’m mainly focused on taking some courses that would help in raising my GPA. I’m not sure how universal this term is but I’ll refer to them as “bird courses” aka the supposedly easy university courses that people generally use as an elective because it’ll get them an easy A. This year, I’ve done Introduction to Classical Mythology, Introduction to Environment Studies as well as Spatial Data Analysis and Mapping. Now I know what you’re thinking, how could I have ever assumed the last one would be easy? Surprisingly, the last one seemed the least boring and easily comprehensible one of the three. Although, I haven’t started environment studies yet so I guess of the two. I don’t know, Greek Mythology can get pretty boring when your teacher just takes about the characters in the stories for three hours straight.

But anyways, although I’ve been super busy with school and work (yes I’m still alive after working through three different jobs), I’m still doing my best to squeeze in time for all the things I want to do over the summer. Thankfully environment studies is online so I get two months of doing what I want (studying of course).

I have many plans for the summer but one big thing I want to do is visit the falls. Many people, both Canadian or not know Canada is well known for their massive waterfall located in Niagara, aka Niagara Falls, however, there are more to see than just that. Scattered throughout Ontario are various conservation areas that hold trails to smaller waterfalls – some only half or even a quarter the size Niagara Falls, and something I want to do this summer is to try and visit them all. I’ve already gone through a few, I’ve been to Albion and Tiffany Falls. Tiffany is one of many conservation areas that we have in Hamilton, in fact it is basically connected to the big conservation area that holds trails to cliffs like Dundas Peak as well as the infamous (next to Niagara) Webster Falls – which I hope to visit next.

Sadly, a lot of these trips seem to be shorter than the drive, as one of the falls I want to visit are more than two hours away. But it’s more of the relaxing experience you get from going that I enjoy. Just sitting there in the boiling sun, being sprayed by the mist and listening to soothing sound of the waterfall, it’s perfect.

I don’t have much else planned for the summer, there’s a set budget I want to try and make with all the hours I’m working that I have to try and manage as well before the summer ends. And besides that, I’m still in school for the whole four months and still suffering through three jobs, basically four if you want to include all the readings I have to do for my classes.

One of the other things that I want to try and do is get a 4.0 GPA this summer term (all grades being 85+) I remember my days in high school when I would achieve that without a doubt! But come university, I basically lost all willingness to study and have yet to a semester where all my marks are above a 75. But I have some motivation this semester. If I get a 4.0, then Alex is gonna take me shopping. 🙂

I also really, really, really, want to lose weight this summer. I’ve gained a crazy 20 pounds since January up to now, and although it is constantly fluctuating, I feel like I’m too heavy for my own good now.. and that’s not good lol. So I’m doing my best to try and lose all of it by the end of the summer and return to my skinnier days by fall. Although don’t get me wrong, I don’t consider myself to be highly obesed or anything, I just want to be healthier. You know?

What are you plans for the summer? Any goals? School?

Maybe one goal should be keeping up with this blog, haha.
